GERMAN BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE

The German Business Roundtable is an event that is organized by the economic division of the German Embassy. 

This takes place approx. twice a year and the objective is to connect German companies so that they understand what each manufactures or services that they provide. Over the last couple of years, I have attended many German Business Roundtable events and it is has been an eye opener to see how many German companies have a presence here in Malaysia. Each company visited is involved in a very different activity and is a leader in its field. On 26.09.2017 it was an honor for TROX Malaysia Sdn Bhd to host the event. It was my pleasure to organise this and to welcome German visitors to our facility. 

The first visitor arrived at 4pm and all were present by 5.30pm. Whilst visitors were arriving we had the opportunity to talk in detail about the TROX chilled beam system in our training room. The event started officially at 5.30pm and after a short company briefing we headed into the factory to see how we manufacture the products. As there were some industrial dampers nicely displayed at the shop floor and destined for the MRT, we talked about the basic MRT tunnel requirements and in particular about safety. 

Another highlight of the tour was the VAV line and especially the calibration. I could see that this was surprising to the visitors as it gave them an insight into what to ask their building owners or maintenance team to ensure that the temperature is correct in their buildings. After the factory tour we went through the new office extension, starting with the X-Cubes that serve the building followed by a smoke demonstration in our new lab where we featured a smoke test on a swirl diffuser.

To relax after so much walking we then headed to the conference room where dinner and drinks were served. The very vital and interesting discussions continued and the event ended with the last guests leaving at midnight. This was a great success and I am sure that TROX Malaysia Sdn Bhd will have the opportunity to host the event again in the future.
