The main construction included the Main Bridge which also included a 6.7-kilometer undersea tunnel, TROX China have supplied total 588 JFC dampers; the Hong Kong side (Hong Kong Link Road) included a 1-kilometer Scenic Hill Tunnel.
For the
Link Road tunnel on Hong Kong side TROX Malaysia have supplied total 303 JFM
dampers of which 289 dampers size ranging from 1.6m2 to 3.5m2
installed in the Over Head Ventilation Duct along the tunnel are fitted with
fail-as-is electric actuators while rest of the dampers size from 8m2 to
12m2 used as fan dampers are fitted with fail-safe spring return
electric actuators.
All dampers are fire rated to 4 hours and suitable for operation at the temperature of 250 degrees C for a period of 2 hours.
The dampers leakage rates are third party tested and proved to be well below that required in the UL555S Class I classification after having undergone 20,000 open and close cyclic operations.
