The project was to build a Boundary Crossing Point between the City of Shenzhen (Mainland China) and Liantang in the North East Region of New Territories of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. The works include two tunnels total 5.5km long. The construction works started in 2013 and the testing and commissioning work for the tunnel ventilation system has taken more than six months due to great numbers of equipment installed and the complexity of the fire zoning design. 
TROX won the contract for the supply of 1474 numbers of JFM damper of the size 1500x1500mm installed at the Over Head Ventilation Ducts to form the multi-zone smoke extraction system, and 80 numbers of JFM damper of the size 3500x3500mm and 4000x4000mm installed as fan control dampers. 

The total contract value was one of the largest TROX have received for a tunnel project. 

A total ten percent of the Over Head Ventilation Duct dampers have been subjected to a leakage test at the factory prior to shipment to ensure the leakage through the long smoke extraction system to be kept at the minimum. TROX have assisted in the testing and commissioning work by demonstrating how to set up limit switches for damper open and closed positions, giving advice in relation to damper installations and trouble-shooting related to site installation issues. 

The fire inspection work has been completed successfully by the middle of April ready for opening to public scheduled on the 19th of May 2019.
