RAPID PENGERANG, JOHOR BAHRU

The Malaysian oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) is developing a refinery and petrochemical integrated development project (RAPID) and other associated facilities in Pengerang, Southern Johor, Malaysia, through a project called Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC).

PIC is part of the larger Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) proposed by the Johor state government. The total investment required for the PIPC project is approximately MYR97bn ($27bn), of which the RAPID project accounts for MYR57bn ($16bn) whilst the associated facilities represent the balance of MYR40bn ($11bn).

TROX extensive experience gained in offshore oil and gas projects was put to good use and will help ensure a safe working environment in the hazardous areas of this processing plant. 

TROX supplied fire dampers (pneumatic and electric actuated JFM & JFD), volume control and pressure relief dampers that were installed within the field auxiliary room (FAR), substations (SUB), operator shelter buildings (OSB) and battery room within the plant. 

TROX dampers comply with the technical requirements for fire integrity and low leakage in accordance with the specified international standards such as UL555S and EN1751.

With TROX dampers installed workers are ensured of a safe and comfortable environment to work in. 

TROX fire dampers are tried, tested and ATEX certified to ensure the hazardous working space is controlled in accordance with the Consultant's design, both during normal and fire mode operation.
